Dental Division – Patients
What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are substitute, or replacement tooth roots that provide the same function as natural tooth roots, including stimulating the bone. Learn more about dental implants...
What is it made of?
The dental implant itself is made of Titanium, a lightweight metal that is stronger and lighter than steel and yet chemically stable. In other words, it won’t rust, oxidize or change over time. It is the same metal used in bone repair and joint reconstruction such as knee replacement.
If you’d like to learn more, please visit the Dental Patient Information page.
How long does it last?
Lifecore Dental implants are designed to last for the life of the patient. However, the situation depends upon the health of the patient and how well the patient cares for their teeth and gums. You should discuss this with your dental professional.
What is the treatment procedure?
The treatment procedure actually depends upon which teeth are being replaced. For specific information pertaining to the procedure required for your situation, please visit the Dental Patient Education page.
Who does the procedure?
The procedure will most likely be performed by a local specialist trained in Tooth Replacement Therapy. Consult your dental professional to find out who will be performing the procedure.
Is it painful?
While dental professionals always try to minimize any patient discomfort, it is best to discuss the procedure with your dental professional. They can advise you on the recommended anesthetic methods available.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends entirely on the required procedure, the status of the patient, the required implants and insurance coverage. Please consult your dental professional to discuss your costs.
